At Cripple Creek Wharf in Clam Point you will discover an interesting landmark, at one time there was a walkway to connect between the canal that was high enough to let boats pass under. In later years as the boats are being built bigger and could no longer get under the walkway it was dismantled leaving only the two side structures. This is no longer visible as it was recently removed. The top picture shows the two side structures before it was removed. A similar bridge is still operational at Sandford Wharf, Yarmouth County. The only difference between the two is that in Sandford it is a drawbridge to let the fishing boats pass through.
