Names like Franklin Roosevelt, Kate Smith, Gene Tunney, Amelia Earhart, Ernest Hemingway, and Jean Beliveau were some that\u00c2\u00a0came to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Wedgeport has a selection of launching sites and offers good access to the west side of Lobster Bay, one of the best sea kayaking locations in Nova Scotia. Public Wharf Road in Upper Wedgeport, Nicolas Road Wharf and Breakwater, Tuna Wharf both in Lower Wedgeport.<\/p>\n<p>Wedgeport is an Acadian fishing village and was once referred to as the Sport Tuna Fishing Capital of the World. During the years from 1937-1976 famous people such as Amelia Earhart, Ernest Hemmingway, President Franklin D.
